A quaint Scaninavian isnpired timber house on Bowen Island for a client with minimalist, yet warm aesthetic. The house straddles a natural swale in a grassland site, surrounded by forest and views to the rear of the house. A simple and site appropriate palette of naturally weathered cedar board and batten, galvalume metal roof and exposed concrete define the exterior and are similarly carried through to the interior. A backyard is defined by a retaining wall extension and decks scribed around the exposed bedrock knolls.
